Watercolour snakes & ladders

These trousers… do much more than you think. Watercolour snake print you say? How on earth could that be practical, useful, nice, versatile or all of the above?!

Well, as always, when you say “urgh!” I say “fantastic!”

These trousers were a thrifty (somewhat) Zara purchase after Mum and I went to see Onegin by the Australian Ballet. For quality, excellence and fit, they really were a steal.

I’ve never understood how Zara price things – a chiffon dress might set you back $150 while another only costs $60. I’ve also never understood their sizing, whether people really want that many varieties of puffer coats and what constitutes a Zara ‘basic’.

Well, these trousers are ‘basic’ so that’s that. They must be useful! They must be practical! Matter settled.

And if you need proof, below are the many ways in which you might find yourself styling a pair of watercolour snake print trousers. Just in case you ever need a point of reference…

Trousers – Zara, Nude heels – Siren, Lace-up beige boots – Next (London), Pewter Mary Jane heels – Pierre Fontaine (I’ve had these since I was 16!), Clogs – Funkis, Brothel creepers – Wittner, White shirt – (TOP) Dotti, (BOTTOM) Sportsgirl, Pink jumper – Sportsgirl, Grey/Black Ombre jumper – Glassons, Pendant necklace- Diva.

An afternoon in the Yarra Valley…

On Sunday the My French Life™ team planned a trip to the Yarra Valley! I turned up half way through the day, and was able to visit Dominique Portet and taste the most amazing dessert wine ever; then Domaine Chandon for the gorgeous grounds and a cup of coffee.

Lastly we stopped in to the Yarra Valley Dairy to taste some delicious cheese and buy tasty YV produce. Although the day was overcast, the Yarra Valley has always had the ability to look absolutely stunning. I was so pleased that our resident Frenchies and Sarah (resident Brit living in France) could see it!
