Fluff.

There has been a certain fluffy something infiltrating my world with mountains of woolly residue… Unfortunately it’s not a small fluffy puppy, a soft kitten, an overrun bunny or a number of small fluffy ducks. (Segway to cute photos)

In a better world it would be. In this world, however, it’s simply my new jumper.

It’s been a while since I’ve had to deal with a fluff problem. But we’ve all been there. It’s on your jeans. All over, and you have no clue how it got there. It’s not like you’ve been wearing it on your knees! It’s on your car seat, in your coat and on the poor unsuspecting elbow the person sitting beside you on the train. Every time you realise you’ll be forced to make contact with something new you pause for a few seconds, wondering if there’s some way of preventing it. Realising there isn’t, you resign to fluffing up the place.

Despite this obvious drawback, my new jumper is pretty good. And here at fluff central, we’re trying the whole hairspray, machine wash process to see if that keeps the fluff at bay…

Hold your breath, make a wish, count to three…

I. Love. Willy Wonka.

The original.

I didn’t mind Johnny Depp, and I know that film was more accurate in relation to the books and I do love Roald Dahl… but they ain’t got nothing on Gene Wilder in a top hat and velvet tails, with his sometimes beautiful sometimes crazy eyes, nice smile, long nose and lovely voice. I am obviously someone who can be heard constantly shouting how brilliant the original musical is, and how much I love Gene Wilder (Also in this category are the original Paddington Bear TV series and Mary Poppins).

Oh, but I do love Gene Wilder.

Anyway, this whole Willy Wonka tangent is sort of a perfect segway into what I was going to post next, which is a whole lot of deliciously colourful items of clothing and tasty treats. Because cheery colours seem to be what gets me going at the moment. So to set the scene, look at this:

Oh and if you want more brilliant deliciousness you should visit the excellent blog of my excellent friend Laura – she’s been reviewing Melbourne, plus a little bit of London (and more recently Sydney) one coffee shop and restaurant at a time. The results? Omnomnom. Sorry, too busy salivating.
